Action 177 - Honor Heroes (Mile 1).

I proudly claim the title of United States Marine. I am but one link in a chain that includes some of the bravest and most courageous men and women this world has ever known. And these Marines deserve to be honored, to be acknowledged, and to be remembered. For twenty-six miles through the streets of Pasadena, I will do just that.

Action 176 - Honor Heroes (Mile 1). I will run mile one in honor of GySgt Michael Clark. I will remember him as a Marine Warrior who dedicated his life to Family, Country and Corps. And I will run strong and true, as he once stood strong and true in service to this grateful nation.

Marine Staff Sergeant Michael Joseph Clark, 29, died in Al Karma, Iraq, on July 20, 2004, due to enemy action. He was an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician based at Camp Pendleton and assigned to Combat Service Support Battalion 1, Combat Service Support Group 11, 1st Force Service Support Group, 1 Marine Expeditionary Force.
