Action 155 - Prepare With Confidence.

As I was posting my last blog entry, I had the most amazing realization. I'm not worried at all about tomorrow's half marathon. I'm not concerned about the distance. I'm not afraid I won't finish. And I'm not stressing about anything. All I can think about is how much fun it is going to be.

Action 155 - Prepare With Confidence. And I have. I've been sorting through my running gear, picking what I want and setting aside what I don't. It's almost like any other day ahead, where I set out my things and then get ready for bed.

I contrast this with how I was feeling this time last year. On March 13, 2011, I ran my first half marathon, the San Diego Safari Park Half Marathon. I was making myself crazy the night before, not sure what to wear or bring or pack or set aside in the car. I was a mess.

And the event itself? I thought I was going to be sick, I was so tense and nervous. It wasn't until we ran across mile eleven that I believed I was actually going to finish, and I remember a wave of tears and sobs washed over me. It was truly surreal. (I blogged about it all here.)

What a difference a year makes. Tonight, I'm as relaxed as I can be. I am confident that I have put in the time, completed my training, and prepared myself to successfully run another half marathon.

Prepared? Yes. Confident? Absolutely. Let's run!
