It's good to look ahead and focus on my goals for the future. I think about events I want to try, imagine what my body will look like at different weights, and see myself accomplishing great things. But just for a moment, I want to look back at what I have already achieved.
Action 194 - Notice The Difference. Over the last year and a half, I have changed my body. The change is noticeable, since I've dropped thirty pounds. But less noticeable are the changes inside. I am now so much stronger than I was. I can run up and down hills. I can tackle obstacles. I can slog through the mud and scale a wall and keep steady running for a full five hours.
I feel younger now than I did ten years ago. And I think I look younger, too. Here's a picture of me in 2002 and another from New Year's Day 2012. The runner on the right hardly recognizes the guy in a walking coma on the left.
My best days are still ahead, and I am going to continue to train and challenge myself and improve every single day. But for this moment, I'm going to look back and notice the difference.
