Action 007 - Easy There, Turbo.

Now that my Project One Five has kicked off, I'm racing to go. I am back at the gym, eating healthy, making good decisions... and ready to fix everything right this second. But that's not really how improvement works, is it? Certainly not when we are talking about physical fitness and weight loss. A body needs time to adjust and improve.

Which brings me to Action 007 - Easy There, Turbo. I  may want to tackle everything at once, but I need to make mindful choices. For example, this morning at the gym I opted to ride the bike for an hour instead of running. Sure, the treadmill burns a lot more calories, but it also requires more recovery time. And I have a busy weekend already planned. I'm riding the ten mile leg of the Tour de Palm Springs on Saturday and running the Palm Springs Half Marathon on Sunday.

There's no shame in not overdoing it. In fact, the biggest mistake I can make is to overdo the physical training now and end up sidelined for weeks. I want it all and I want it now, but smart choices will ensure that I can see this project through to the end. And when I start off on my marathon, I'll do it knowing I am in the best shape I can be.
