Life is annoying. Every moment of every single day, there is something happening for the sole purpose of making me crazy. I'm sure of it. Well, I'm sure of it until I take a moment, think about what is happening, and see it differently. Truth be told, my life is not that crazy, things are not that frustrating, and the universe is not conspiring to ruin my each and every day.
Thus, Action 015 - Enjoy The Unexpected. Driving home yesterday from Palm Springs, we had to deal with traffic. Not just slowing us down a bit traffic. No, this was stopped on the freeway for minutes at a time traffic.

I was surprised that Ric was so matter-of-fact about the whole situation. He wasn't mad, he wasn't bothered... he just accepted that we were going to be delayed and let it go at that. And his attitude about it was contagious.
As we sat there in the relative quiet of the car, we didn't vent and bitch about the situation. We were sitting comfortably in a nice, air-conditioned car. We had good music, bottled water, and snacks in the cooler. More importantly, we had time together, just the two of us, and we talked about all kinds of things.
Instead of raging at thousands of cars around us, we spent the hours enjoying each other's company. After a busy weekend, it was a nice surprise to have some time alone.
Don't get me wrong, I am still no fan of sitting in traffic on a freeway. But quality time with my husband isn't always easy to find, and I'm glad I was able to appreciate the unexpected gift when it was right there in front of me.
