I was thinking of that this morning. I had a few minutes before I had to leave for the airport, and I was planning out the grand schedule of my day.
- Airport drop off
- Gym
- Breakfast
- Clean house
- Clean patio
- Mow lawn
- Shower
- Shave
- Finish packing for Palm Springs
- Prepare "snack" cooler for drive
- Stop by bike shop, air up tires
- Gas up the car
- Pick up Subway sandwiches
- Pick up Ric
- Drive to Palm Springs
It's a lot of stuff to get done, plus it all has to be done between work emails I'm sending and receiving and presentations I am trying to get finished today.
That's where Action 008 - Four Minutes comes in. I was planning so big that I completely missed that I could tackle at least one of the items - shaving - right then and there. It would take me just a few minutes to shave, and that would be one thing off of my to-do list.
Voila. Shaving, before and after!
I'll remember this going forward. Less thought, more action. If I have a few minutes of downtime, I'll try to knock out a quick task that has been hanging over me. I may not be able to save the world in Four Minutes, but I can certainly accomplish something.
