Lessons in Love - Meet Brenda and Lee

Welcome to another entry in my limited series of posts that I'm calling "Lessons in Love." It's my way of recognizing and celebrating the friends in our lives that have created amazing and inspiring long-term relationships. And they've all been kind enough to share a little lesson or two that has helped make their love last. So let's talk about love.

Today, you get to meet my friends, Brenda and Lee.

When did you become a couple?

March 11, 1995

What makes your relationship work so well?

The fact that we are the ones each other truly wants to spend all their time together with.

What relationship advice would you offer others?

Be happy, kind, patient and never hold a grudge.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I should share a little bit more about these two. Specifically, more about Brenda. She is not just a friend, she is my lifelong all-time no other better best friend of forty years. We have known each other since we were just kids, and we will always be friends even if we live to be 200 years old.

In fact, our friendship is so strong that my husband says we are like peas and carrots, so we got matching tattoos to celebrate that bond.

Anyway, it's because she and I are so close that I can speak with some authority on what kind of amazing couple these two are. Brenda and Lee make each other a priority, they share the same values, and they celebrate the connection they have and never take it for granted. What could be better #CoupleGoals?
