More than anything in recent memory, the object of my gratitude today is an election that is finally, completely, and totally over.
Democracy is not pretty. It's not even pleasant. But it beats the heck out of any other system I know.
Thank you, America. Once again, we have done the admirable: we have put the highest office in the land up to a vote, and the people have spoken.
Good night to my fellow citizens all across the political spectrum. Let's look ahead to tomorrow, shall we?
